Role of Blockchain in Supply Chain Management

In this two-part article, the author focuses on exemplifying the role of blockchain and fitting the same into SCM

Author :- Hardhik Potharaju, PGPB6.

Imagine a world where you do not have to go through the hassles of getting your passport stamped at immigration in an Airport or get your license renewed without going to the government office. Better yet there may not be any need to go to a bank to make an international money transfer. All of this will soon be a reality, at least in Dubai. Because the UAE government is aggressively adopting the blockchain technology to ease the lives of residents.

Operations Management

In a nutshell, the management of the efficient transformation of inputs into outputs to suitably satisfy customers. Inputs are materials, labor, capital and management. Outputs are products or services, which customers want and often pay for.

And the story doesn't just end here, many twists & turns - subjects & concepts. But the logic is simple, very simple.

See opportunities to improve operations.
Diagnose the problems and barriers to creating value.
Design effective and efficient solutions.
Apply concepts to solve client issues.

If there is hardly any scope for improvement, change the way it works - create a new mechanism and call it "my kid".

Here we feed you the core subjects of Operations Management.

  1. Supply Chain Management
  2. Inventory Management
  3. Logistics and Distribution
  4. Risk and Decision Analysis
  5. Production Planning & Control
  6. Total Quality Management
  7. Service Operation Management

Please find the links of the above subjects in the Study Material zone.
